Bernard Welding Equipment has more than 50 years of experience as a MIG welding innovator. The company was founded shortly after World War II in Chicago. It was a pioneer in the introduction of the dual-shield welding process in 1954. During the mid-1960s, when MIG welding was in its infancy, a Bernard brand MIG welding gun and wire feeder was introduced and remains the forerunner of the current product line. The company offers a broad selection of products that include hand-held MIG guns, MIG guns for automation, OXO guns, replacement parts, and consumables and accessories. In 2001, Bernard Welding Equipment was purchased by Illinois Tool Works.
