Adirondack Tire Centers

Just got new tires installed balanced and an alignment within an hour, fast service.
The people are able to tell you cost of different sets of tires and let you choose from low to high in price, they don't push for selling higher price items and add on services which is nice.
I had questions about the tires and the gentleman looked at them and assured me there was nothing wrong with the tires!

This is my go-to mechanic. I bring my car here every time there is an issue. They are reasonably priced, and it they don't know exactly what the issue is, they don't make me pay for something. Instead, they have me go to a dealer, get the proper diagnosis, and then come back to them for a cheaper repair. You see, I'm a student, and I don't have a ton of cash laying around. They understand this, and they don't want to make me pay for things unnecessarily. I'm still under my power train warranty, and often, going to the dealer is cheaper for me (if it's covered under the warranty). I have never had a bad experience here. They honestly are my favorite. I have never felt gypped, and the guys there are insanely pleasant and nice.

I was looking for a local place to get a 2 wheel alignment and decided to go to the Amsterdam Adirondack Tire Center. A previous garage that did some work for me closed so I couldn't go back to them. I was given an 8 AM appointment by Mark the manager. Upon arriving I was told it was going to be several hours as they were short an employee, but they did get my car in within an hour. I was then told that I needed an outer tie rod end and lower control arm. My $70 expectation suddenly was going to be $485+tax! I said that was beyond what I could spend and went home to call and get quotes on parts and another shops estimate. I called Mavis in Johnstown and spoke with Chris that quoted at most $375 including tax. I called Mark back and asked if he could match that price. He refused. I then went up to Mavis who then informed me I did NOT need the extra parts and actually took me in the shop and showed me. In the end, Mavis only charged me $64 which included rotating my tires! Hurray for Chris at Mavis in Johnstown for his honesty. Boo Hiss on Mark at the Adirondack Tire Center. This is a warning for anyone considering the ATC that they may not be honest or even price competitive
